#145 [Chase God’s Glory Through Your Grief] with Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young

Are you grieving a loss?

You likely are. We experience loss every day. Sometimes, it’s smaller, like moving away from a friend or a city you loved, and sometimes, it’s extremely significant, like the death of a family member.

But through it all, we can be looking for God’s glory. And when we search for it, we will see it.

My guest, Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young, is sharing her personal story of loss and the miraculous gift God gave her family through it. She’s encouraging us to chase God’s glory through our grief, too.

You’ll hear us talk about…

  • Navigating everyday grief

  • Using God’s Word to help process grief

  • How good things can come from loss

  • Supporting others on their grief journey

Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young is a multi-published author, speaker, podcaster, former news reporter, and writing coach. She is passionate about helping women discover God’s glory on life’s unexpected paths and flourish in their God-given callings.

Dorina has published four of her own Bible studies, Create in Me a Heart of Mercy, Glory Chasers and Flourishing Together and Redeemer (coming in 2025), which she uses in her Bible teaching for retreats. Dorina has also published more than 20 books for adults and children, including Chasing God’s Glory and Kailani’s Gift.

Dorina is a remarried widow. She and her husband Shawn are raising three brave daughters in Central California. They love traveling, running, trying out new recipes and restaurants, and learning about diverse cultures.

Let’s Read the Bible Together

In past years, I’ve read my bible using The Bible Recap - reading plan and podcast - where Tara-Leigh Cobble recaps what you just read in about 8 minutes. It has been a GAME CHANGER. I am excited to read my bible. I look forward to better understanding the story as a whole, to better understanding God's character, and to gaining insight into passages that I don't understand.

I’m getting ready to start over in January and you’re invited to join me.

Let’s read the Bible together in 2025!
